Just bought a pro 651 handheld and I can see batteries are gonna get expensive. I've read that there is a power cord that also charges the batteries. I normally just listen at home so if there's a power cord I'd be really interested. I've never had a handheld before so I'm unsure if that's an option.

My suggestion and I am sure others will say also, get yourself a good external battery charger and 2 good sets of rechargeable batteries.

I use a Maha C9000. This link is to the charger. Prices should be cheaper if you shop around.

MH-C9000 - Maha Energy

For batteries, the Eneloop Pros are the best IMO, I always have a set ready and charged. Also shop around for these, as prices can vary, these are not usually sold in store and most likely have to be purchased online.

The external charger is the way to go if you operate on battery.

If you use mainly at home you can plug it into AC with the right cord, but I would not use it to charge batteries.
