Hello I live in Waldorf, Charles County MD
I own a Uniden BC796D that I have applied the new firmware upgrade to, I have placed the "new" set of Charles County frequencies in the scanner. However the only comms I hear is when I scan those frequencies conventionally. When I set trunking up the scanner goes silent. I also notice that none of those frequencies provided on the webpage are active control channels!? Anyone have an updated list of frequencies or can point me in the right direction?

The one thing you didn't mention was whether you put the new frequencies in as a trunked bank - this is suggested by the fact that you hear the channels conventionally. In addition, a custom table is required to trunk this system correctly - the instructions for which are at the bottom of.

BC796DFirmwareUpdate < UnidenMan4 < TWiki

There are very few Type 1 systems anymore - use TYPE2 CUSTOM as your bank type and follow the directions

I'm too far away to confirm Charles county's frequencies, so I can't help there...

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly!!

Upon a reexamination of how I programmed the frequencies into the radio I discovered a typo. I entered the primary control channel in as 853.02650, the actual cc is 853.26250. All is well, at least this scanner won't join the others I own as expensive paperweights anytime soon!!

Thanks again for the advice!!
