Charlotte and I-Call

I was told that only certain trucking systems use it.

Charlotte does use it often. Can not tell you about Cabarrus County. On the Charlotte system you will often hear the words, "Call me on private 7xxxxx." Not all radios are turned on to call private but most can answer private calls.

1st, it's trunking, not trucking, and yes, Char/Meck does use I-calls. I rarely listen to them, but I have heard them. I might bring the 246T this weekend and set it up for I-call-only scanning just to see how much they really use it.

Charlotte/Mecklenburg does use I-call. Not all officers have the capability, but most do, including all Sgts. and above. Most of the chatter is nothing to listen to, but you might get lucky.

Thanks guys...... I've set my bc246t up for wildcard i-call and the Charlotte meck
system seems to have a large amount of I-call traffic. The I-call channel seems
to have a lot of Chit-Chat conversations on it similar to CB / Ham but more
professional. I haven't heard any traffic on the Cabarrus County trunking
system so I'm not sure if they have it enabled or not.

If I hear anything on the Cabarrus County side, I'll post to let others know.
