Charlotte County No Reception Home Patrol ll

People who maybe monitoring Charlotte County Public safety. I am unable to receive anything on the County system with my home patrol ll i am living right on County line Sarasota and Charlotte. Could it be i am too far out i dout it its stock antenna. Any feedback help be great. Have no problem on SDS 200?

the county is simulcast. i would and i am getting an SDS100 as where i live i literally get every other word.
my 325 works fine around most of the county, just not at the house. (near peachland and orlando).
you can try the old rabbit ear antenna dance of years ago to try and find a sweet spot.
that also means up, down and with the antenna flat/horizontal.
i see an SDS200 on your signature, that should be fine.

In the Deep Creek area myself. I'm running a SDS200 with an external Omni X and get great reception. Police, fire, airport and even have N Port stuff plugged in. All simulcast like wtp mentioned?

Okay thanks guys yeah i have no problem on my SDS 200. Stock antenna on the home patrol ll could be issue. Reception on the Home patrol units is limited guess i will use the big guy sds 200 for monitoring.

Yeah, have a 996P2 as well that's only on the airport, forestry and the Seminole Gulf rail. It just plain sucked even with the outside antenna on everything else as Todd mentioned above.

The HP2 has a hidden menu to try adjusting the P25 decode. Go to menu>audio options>in the lower right corner press and hold the blank box till it beeps and another screen will appear showing P25 filters and P25 mode, Try adjusting these items and see what happens. I found that mine works best in manual mode 7. You need the latest firmware and need to do this any time you download to the scanner or turn it off.
