I use my 5 year old SDS 200 to monitor UASI in Mecklenburg County. I'm retired and am home most everyday in NW Charlotte with SDS200 frequently on 12-16 hours per day. In the past month or so I've noticed received audio sometimes briefly sounds "robotic" for just a second or so. I hear this mostly on CFD Alarm talkgroup. Antenna is an 800MHz BNC. No programming changed during 5 years except for firmware, DMR, and Waterfall upgrades. Antenna is an 800MHz BNC. Anyone else noticed this?

Technically yes, they do use a computerized dispatcher. But I assume OP is saying human voices aren't sounding normal during brief transmissions.
Never experienced this with a scanner.

I'm familiar with Samantha dispatching, but that's not the issue. The brief voice distortion I hear reminds me of Dstar audio anomalies I've heard before.

Not sure it's the same issue but since the last SDS firmware updates I've had a lot more issues with distortion on the system, and at times it does have a robotic voice sound to it. I don't notice it on my G5.

The recent update could be causing the issue possibly.

I am not on the newest update, but on the unfortunate side, I am too far to receive the simulcast with the SDS. Just like KG4PBD, I do not have any issues on my G4.

@hamstang

I also listen to UASI many hours a day. Specifically CFD and Medic. I will keep an ear out for any robotic traffic. (I haven't noticed anything recently, but I will be more aware with my listening in the future.)

In reference to Samantha, she is a hard working dispatcher! She only takes Mondays off. Hahaha.
