Charlottesville utilities

I find it interesting and rather comical that the city of Charlottesville appears to be using mag mount antennas for utility usage collection. Coax from antenna appears to be running down side of vehicle into drivers side rear door.
Not a clue what frequencies utilities usage would be transmitted on.

about how long is the "stick" on the top of the magmount ?

It’s pretty long with two closed coils on it. 3-4 ft maybe? Rough guess.

it might even be of the CB variety.
there were a couple of pizza delivery guys here that had the 6 inch 400 band antenna and were on GMRS.
boy did they have a lot to talk about as they drove around.
6 inch 400
18 inch 150 band.
coils are used to fake it out and would be for a lower or dual band kind of thing.
