I remember a while back I came across a long list of talkgroups assigned to CHART located in PG’s database. They have disappeared, and I was wondering if anyone had them. It’s frustrating trying to find them on a daily basis as they change talkgroups. (Something I never understood) I’ve noticed DNR does the same. Perhaps when they switch to First they will remain on one talkgroup. Thank you

I kept track of them for a while but they changed every day never the same talkgroup.

Note that when a CHART user comes up on the PG system and is assigned a dynamic tg, the CHART user probably doesn’t know that has happened. To them, they are using the same FIRST tg they normal set their radio to, and think they are on FIRST infrastructure.

Going on day number 5 of chart using the same talkgroup (20584) while DNR area 3 changes its talkgroup everyday via the PG system. I was wondering if this was now okay to submit to the DB ?

Also note that I have not heard any activity on the SHA D3 talkgroups listed in the DB under the PG system. However I have heard bits and pieces over the first system when they allow traffic in region 5 from them.

Second note - Chart has been know to come up on MSP Q/L to talk to troopers on their talkgroup as to asking SOC to call “the shop” assuming D3 to relay messages via landline. Interesting

If it is dynamic tg, that means that the tg will change at some point. Submitting them as permanent when they are not could lead to errors in programming.

Correct, but in my experiences with dynamic talkgroups in the past they seem to change daily including past experiences with chart on this system. Could they have now locked on to a solid talkgroup ? Not sure how that works but I’ll just keep an eye on it.

If its in the range where dynamic tgs are typically assigned, then it is dynamic. A static or permanent assignment would be elsewhere.

ASTRO 25 ISSI doesn't attach any particular meaning to a talkgroup number in the ISSI dynamic range. It trunks the talkgroups themselves.

SHA D3 has 2 talk groups on the MD 1st Gen system. I just program the SHA D3 tg on the MD 1st when I am monitoring PG County. I am using an apx75K and or Harris XG100P radio to monitor PG. Will be glad when the Montgomery Tower will be live on the MD 1st as well.

Have you heard any traffic on those two SHAD3 talkgroups on the PG system ? I haven’t, however I’ll catch bits and pieces when they decide to allow traffic through on the region 5 towers for the first system. Assuming for testing purposes.

Does MoCo have a solid talkgroup for Chart on their system ? I’m curious on how SHA and Chart are heard up that way.

Thanks

Yes on the Monkey system they have 3 TG's that are used by CHART Full time and they contact state highways TOC on D3 which is on the MD 1st system. The TG's are 7375,7380 and 7385 on the Monkey aka Montgomery System.
