Chatham County Sheriff P25?

Good morning brain trust,

Go easy on me I'm still trying to wrap my head around all of the various systems & setting up my SDS100. That being said, I live in Chatham County and get great reception on (2) of the NC Viper towers - Chatham Fire & EMS comes through in the clear, however I have yet to hear a peep from Chatham Sheriff. I haven't been able to find any info referencing them being encrypted, but I'm wondering if anyone can tell me if they are simulcasting (?) to Viper? Or still operating on their own system.

To add - if anyone has any recommendations on other interesting channels to add to my scan bank I'm all ears.

It looks like they are listed as partial encryption on VIPER, it may be they switched to full time encryption, or that they have switched to VIPER full time. Maybe @Chris0516 will help you, he is from Chatham Co.

Yep that's a pretty valid question! Anything besides HAM bands really - I tend to scan air-band a good amount when I'm close to the coast. Right now I'm having a good time playing around with the VIPER system, however I need to narrow down my "Favorites" in order to actually give the scanner a chance to catch some traffic.

Viper Statewide Events are real fun to monitor
