Chattanooga change

Is Chattanooga going digital soon? I am about to get back into scanning after a couple
years and have finally decided to buy a BC246T, but don't want to buy it if everything is
going digital anyway. Any reliable info about when it is going to happen?

Short answer, I dont think so.

Long answer, CPD does not have digital radios to give to patrol officers, some detectives and others have them but most line officers do not. CFD has a few capable radio's and was rumored to be heading toward being the "test" agency, but I have not heard any good rumors from that in a while. HCEMS/HCEMA is moving that way also, but have not head anything about that happening soon either. Just about all of the county (HCSO,Fire Dept's, and Rescue agencies) dont have digital capable radios and or money to get said radios.

As always this is only information not fact, so act accordingly might happen tomorrow. Hope this helps.
