As you all may have noticed, the Hamilton County EOC talkgroups has been selected as the main talkgroup for all county dispatches. If the incident grows, a fireground channel is selected. I believe they are doing away with agencies having seperate talkgroups for dispatches and responses and are using the agency talkgroups as car to car features. An example is Red Bank Fire. They were once a self dispatching agency, with there own talkgroup. Now, it appears that they will be dispatched from the EOC talkgroup and will use the EOC talkgroup until reassigned to a fireground. All other cities throughout this region have this method of dispatching, to prevent incidents from tying up the dispatch path. This method has been proven to be the easiest way to dispatch while having multiple incidents throughout the city and county.
The city will also experience some changes. Our dispatching process is suppose to include tones after the moscad system completes its alerting cycle. The dispatch comms will be precise and systematic initially. More info will following after all units acknowledge responding. Thats all I have. Will bring more information as it is received.
