The Chattanooga City Council is taking action to get more than $600,000 in federal grants to help bring the police department up to the 21st century.

The money is going to help officer's laptop computers work like they should, not like they have for the last eight years which is very, very slowly.

Too bad for the officers. LMR has never been able to provide the bandwidth public safety needs for their apps.

I hope they are going with PC Express cards as standard PC cards are already in the process of being phased out of laptop architecture altogether.

The bigger problem is the fact they are still using laptops they purchased in 2001.
