I was wondering if there are any off brand scanners out there ( with a minimum of trunking option) . In my research I know SDR dongles can get good results and for most they are a good option.
What I am looking for is more of a simple device that I could program and give to someone not as into the hobby as my self . I know of the home patrol but the price is high. I could buy a used scanner and just tell them just to turn it on and leave it .
