Is there such a thing? Paying over $400 for one is out of the question for me. The systems I want to pick up are 3600 baud so an older digital scanner would do, but the ones I've found don't have the digital card which are hard to find. Where should I look for a decent used digital scanner?

Ebay has plenty, but the prices are too much and its hard to win against 25 other bidders.:)

You might get lucky and find one under $400, but I wouldn't bet on it.
Ebay will be the best place to find a used one but you probably won't find one cheap. You will have to do as I done, save a little each week.

Deals can be found, you just need to do some looking.

I bought my 396 on ebay for $400 as well as an old BC250D for $200 (I later sold it for $250)

Go take a look at some local pawn shops. I bought a PRO-96 at Pawn America for $199 and a couple weeks ago they had a 2096 for $250.

Take a look on www.craigslist.org. I've seen several people selling digital scanners for around $300
