Spend the extra money, get the extra feature and more storage space.
If you listen to music via headphones outside of your car and home, this is a done deal.

I'm not too sure why you would want to start out "cheap", but here's some that are inexpensive.

I am holding in my hand a Sansa M240 1 gig player with built-in voice recorder and it will play almost any format except for that Sony S**t. $64.00 at circuit city yesterday. Uses 1AAA battery & plays 19 hours & you can use it as a regular flash drive if you want.

Why not get one of those ?

$$$$

I am broke, pretty much. I may look into getting a hand held PC (PDA) with MP3 capability, or a really good MP3 player, or something similar. I'll have to sell/trade my Pro-2055 for one. But I am not using the 2055 since I got my BCT15. So I am going to trade it for something.

Thanks bro, but I have scrapped this idea. I was going to get a BCD996T, but instead, I am going to get the iPod 60GB video.

I was originally going to just get a cheap MP3 player, but the new iPod is too cool. I think since I have my scanning covered, the iPod would most benefit me.

Thanks anyway.

PLEASE don't join the masses (remember, the masses are the asses) and get an iPod. They're like Verizon, they nickle and dime you for every accessory that you're going to need. So not worth it. Do you really need a video player on your mp3 player? How much in reality are you going to actually use the video portion?

Go with a Creative, they have one on sale at Circuit City this week for $64.99, it's a 1GB with an FM radio. I have the Creative MUVO TX-FM, and couldn't be happier with it. Smaller than a cigarette lighter, and a breeze to load mp3's onto (drag and drop). This one seems to be the equivilent to the one I have, except it's a ZEN and not a MUVO. For $65, you can't go wrong.

While I appreciate your side of this, I do see myself really using the iPod. The dang thing is just cool. I will be working overnight. I have to stay awake, but the job will be very boring at times. Soo, the iPod using the available iTunes and podcasts will be a very handy accessory to have.

The video is the reason I want the iPod over a standard MP3 player or even over the iPod Nano. Plus 60 GB will be plenty of storage for my music, video, photo, and other data files. I am going to join the masses.

Thanks for the advice though.

FWIW, as I see you all ready want an Ipod.

http://www.pricegrabber.com/ http://newegg.com/

Do some comparison shopping, read the reviews.

I own a Lexar and has a built in FM transmitter, FM receiver and can take SD cards. No proprietary software as you just use explorer to copy paste the audio files.

Video is better suited for a PVR. (Personal Video Player) but most are crap. Archos is the best, but pricey.

What do you want to do? Listen to music or watch videos? What kind of videos?
