Been living in Cherokee for about 4 months now. Normally I listen to SO Dispatch on 156.7300. But there seams to be another SO Dispatch that I found last night on 154.0625 with a CT of 82.5. Question is....are there others that I do not know about for Cherokee SO? Looks to me that there may be many channels that are not listed on this site or others. Just though I would drop a line and ask someone that knows more than I.

Thank you,

Andrew

Thanks, however I am aware of that listing on the database. But as you can see 154.06250 CT 82.5 is not listed. That was the basis of my post........Are there other Frequencies used. Are there other Frequencies that people are using for SO?

Prime time to search for new frequencies:) Why not go to the county database and submit it. Can you verify that it is Cherokee SO?

I've been monitoring Cherokee for a while. I think your 156.730 should be 158.730. 159.105 is a 2ndary channel for dispatch. 154.0625 is one that I've received with the same tone, but haven't figured out if it really is CC or not. The .0625 is listed in my database as a TAC type channel. You may also want to plug in:

151.2275
151.4525
158.7675
158.7975

Awesome!, you are right about 158.730....darn typo. Another thing that has me wondering is that the 154.0625 does not pick up as strong as the 158.730. Also it seams as if 158.730 is for Bravo and Charlie units and 154.0625 is for Alpha and delta units, almost like an east and west type split from the road names that are talked about on air. But i can say that 154.0625 is Cherokee for sure. I will have to add the other channels in tonight when i get home. Hope all of this makes sence as I am at work and rushing though this

thank you very much!

Both the 154.0625 and 158.730 repeaters are licensed to operate off the same site in Canton.

154.0625 is licensed as a narrowband channel, while 158.730 is licensed for standard (20k) deviation. If the county is operating the repeaters as licensed, and you do not have 154.0625 programmed as FM narrowband, the audio for that channel will "sound" weaker on some scanners.

Based on what I see in the FCC ULS, I'm guessing 151.2275 is the input to the 154.0625 repeater.

That would explain it then! Thank you for bringing that into the open for me. I have only been scanning for a little over a year, and I started scanning on a trunked system. So conventional is a little new to me. Just want to get it all setup because from what I have heard (from posts here) Cherokee is not going to a new system anytime soon

Let me also suggest that you check at the top of the Cherokee County page in RR and look at all the county listings in the "FCC Licenses" tab at the top of the page. There you can see all that they are licensed to use. In addition, you can click on the various licenses (like WB9XXX) and it will show you a map of where the transmitter sites are, which you may find answer your question about why some freqs don't come in as clearly. Besides, going thru the FCC records is fun and informative. You just won't find specific uses or PL codes, etc. Enjoy!
