I have a friend who drives a bus for the Cherry Creek Schools. I've been trying to listen in on their communications, but can't figure out their talkgroup. I have heard some busses on the Colorado DTRS (Arapahoe County), and set my PRO-96 bank to OPEN in an attempt to capture all traffic. I have not had any luck hearing them.

Yesterday she copied down some numbers from her Motorola Radio as follows:
ID 111090/1B1F2. I thought the "1B1F2" might relate to a hex code of their talkgroup, but I can't figure it out.

Can anyone decipher these, or am I way off base and they are on some other system?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,
sammy

Cherry Creek Buses are very active on the DTRS, when school is in session at least so much so I've had to lock them out.

Smoky Hill and Chevron seem to be popular sites they affliate with, especially the 700Mhz freqs on Smoky Hill.

DTRS Control Frequencies

OK thanks everyone! I haven't heard them on the 3092 talkgroup, but I will try the 700 MHz frequencies for Smoky Hill and Chevron.

I guess I thought if I put in the primary or secondary control frequencies, I would get everything for that area. For a given tower in my area, how do I know what control channels to input? Do I need all of them?

Sammy you are correct only control channel for each site is needed.

3090 Cherry Creek Schools Maint / Security
3091 Cherry Creek Schools
3092 Cherry Creek Schools Buses
3093 Cherry Creek Schools
3094 Cherry Creek Schools
3095 Cherry Creek Schools

Been logging smoky hill all day and none of these are active but it is Christmas break after all.

One more clarification

Thanks jimmnn!

So to clarify, if I have only 1 primary or secondary control channel for a give tower, that gives me all those talkgroups (i.e. I don't gain anything by adding additional frequencies)?

I've opened up the bank and still not heard her busses, but I'll keep trying.

if you're trying hear them like today for instance, school might be out until after the first of the year.

On the Chevron Site, Cherry Creek Schools talkgroups are always granted 700mhz voice channels. Unfortunately for you, the Pro-96 lacks the capability to track 700mhz control channels as well as 700mhz voice channels granted on a 800mhz control channel. You will have to monitor them on a site with no 800mhz channels.

No luck :(

Thanks Steve this is the best information I've had yet!
I tried a few 700 MHz only sites (State Capital, Auraria) and I can't seem to hear them.
Any suggestions for 700 MHz-only sites that can be heard in the Parker area?

Thanks again,
sammy

Your using a Pro-96 right Sammy?

If so no go on the 700MHz sites.
