Hit and run to an Arap. Co SO car. Saying it was an intentional ramming, then took off. Short pursuit of speeds 20-40, then shut down. Last seem WB Quincy from Broadway. BOLO to surounding agencies.

Saying it was a "very new or brand new" white or light colored Range Rover. Nice way to break in the new car, eh?
edit: Damage to the driver side rear.

And for what it's worth, I called Channel 4's assignment desk just as Cherry Hills was calling it off. Copter 4 is airborne and might go take a look.

For your early morning news viewing pleasure...

Why LE would give up on a suspect who intentionally rams a marked crusier, then another one, is beyond me. Then again, I'm not a cop.

And at 0636, sounds like all Arapahoe County units are discontinuing the search...

And the "pursuit" was only up to 40 MPH too - that might even be the speed limit. Seems like a box maneuver or something similar would have been rather easy to accomplish . . .

most of those agencies in Arapahoe County have strict pursuit policies, esp Arapahoe County S.O. ......but on a funny side note, all these agencies are putting PIT/TVI bumpers on their cars, but cant chase.

If I was in charge...

...and you should all thank God that I'm not...

My chase policy, in it's entirety, would consist of one-and-a-half words:

"Catch 'em!"

DENVER - Police believe three men are responsible for several car thefts and break-ins in the area over the last few days.

Cherry Hills Village Police say it started on Sunday when a truck was stolen in Greenwood Village.

The same stolen truck was then used in another car theft on Monday. This time police say the men drove through a private gate in the Country Home Sunset Drive neighborhood and stole a $100,000 custom Range Rover.

Security cameras at the residence showed a man get into the car and drive away.

"In this case the keys were left in the vehicle and these suspects were looking for a car and they had an easy acquisition," said Cherry Hills Village Police Chief John Patterson.

Police say the same men also stole another car in the same neighborhood after they took the Range Rover.

On Wednesday morning, Cherry Hills Village Police got a call about a suspicious vehicle in the area.

Police confronted the suspects in the stolen Range Rover but could not catch them.

"They drove over yards to get away from us; they were westbound on Quincy Avenue and ran a red light at Broadway. The police officer called off the pursuit at that point in time because it was too dangerous," said Patterson.

The Colorado State Highway patrol also caught up with the stolen Range Rover on Wednesday along C-470, but that pursuit was also called off when the suspects started running other cars off the road.

"We need to get these people in custody as soon as possible," said Patterson.

The men were last seen driving a white 2006 Range Rover with a temporary license plate 194374 B.

Cherry Hills Village Police say the car was also used in several break-ins and car prowls in the Cherry Hills area on Wednesday.

If you have any information about the suspects or if you have seen the car, call your local law enforcement office, or Crime Stoppers at 720-913-STOP (7867).

Tipsters can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash award if an arrest is made and charges are filed.
