Finally got Chesapeake fire, but no matter what I try I can't get Chesapeake Dispatch Precinct 1 or 2. Downloaded all known frequencies on RadioReference, but still no dispatch. Are these restricted frequencies or blocked? If anyone has been able to receive them please let me know the frequency you programed in to get them. Some sites I checked said no frequencies were available for Chesapeake Police Dispatch. Thanks.

It’s a P25 Phase 2 trunked system. If you entered the system correctly, you shouldn’t have any trouble picking up PD talkgroups. You should be entering “talkgroups”. The entire system uses the same frequencies for all the talkgroups.

Precincts 1 & 2 are on two different talkgroups. Are you able to hear dispatch for precincts 3, 4, and 5?
No. I can get fire dispatch but no 303, 305 or 331 talkgroups. That's why I am confused. I seem to get everything else just fine. I get Norfolk and Virginia Beach with no problem. Is there a way to select talkgroups by the DEC and enter them into a BCD996P2?
I stand corrected, after listening all evening, I did get talkgroup 713,203,305,421 and 502. But still can't get 303 or 331.
A lot of the time they patch 3 Dispatch TG’s for PD due to staffing. This could have something to do with it. That’s the only reason I can think as to why you’re not hearing anything, you should definitely be getting the 2nd Precinct on a Friday night

If you receive, 305, there is no reason you should not receive 303 and 331 short of encryption. I don't see 502 or 713 listed in the database. There may be some talkgroups not submitted. I agree that the 3 precincts are probably patched together on 305. What scanner and programming software are you using?
Thanks for the reply. I got 303 and 441 this morning. Guess I will just have to hang in there longer and see what happens. The reason I got so anxious is that my son works in the 2nd and wanted to hear their dispatch.
Did you hear any 200 units call signs?
Finally heard 213 for a very short time.
Just an update. I finally got Chesapeake Precinct 1/5 , 3/4 and 2nd on the scanner. I went back and programed, locking out all the talkgroups that I didn't need. Cleaning up the unnecessary ones evidently freed up the ones I wasn't getting. Thanks for all the help and input !!!
Now that I have the Chesapeake P25 system working, I keep getting a Chesapeake P25 talkgroup ID 713. There is never a transmission. How can I stop this ID without blocking all Chesapeake P25 transmissions?
It’s in the Public works range of TG’s. To stop that TG from popping up, turn off ID Search.
