Cheshire PD

Hi! New to the group here. Does anyone know why I cant receive Cheshire PD? I bought a scanner to listen to them and the FD and I use the freqs stated on this site but I get static and what sounds like a digital hum. Are they perhaps digital? Sorry for the dumb question. Just a bit confused. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!!

yes RR database indicates they are p25 That means they are Digital.

Correct pd is digital but fd is analog so you need a digital scanner to hear pd

Thanks guys. Looks like this old scanner is only good for FD. Sighhh

Your welcome in time you may want to purchase a digital scanner such as the uniden 996xt or 396 xt because a lot of depts are digital.
