Thanks for the update..

No problem.
Also, the FD portables are set up as company number and 15xx. So radio 211522 would be the 23rd portable from station 21 (with the first being 1500).
871504 would be the 5th portable from station 87.
There is a leading zero but depending on what you are using to decode them, it may or may not show it. So radio IDs have 7 digits.
Not sure how the PD radios are set up.

What is coming over County Dispatch 1450? I don't see it in my radio and I was wondering what it's used for.

Information

All of the portables (FD and PD) were issued with just the portable number programmed. Each department was charged with assigning the radios and completing a spread sheet where an alias was assigned to each radio. Apparently some of them have not done it yet. For example - what you should be seeing on the fire end are designations like: CHF xx (Chief from Station xx); SQD xx (Squad Unit from Station xx); and on down the apparatus/officers numbering system per the Chester County Fire Chief's Association.

Ok I've been doing some digging around and found that the east/central and the west control channels are basically for hobby scanners and your location, All the frequencies are control channels and transmit the same data in the west(700MHz) part of the county as well as the (800MHz)east/central. So if you live in downingtown you would use the 800MHz control channels and if you live in Parkesburg you would use the 700MHz control channels. you will notice if your traveling the control channels will switch back and forth between the 700/800MHz and depending where you are in the county, I live in Parkesburg and I can't get the 800MHz control so I only get the 700MHz and I can still hear everything.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but you'll only see the aforementioned designations if you have that spreadsheet and program them into your radio, otherwise you'll just see the RID. It won't happen without some intervention of the user.

Correct. The county will change a radio ID of "211500" to "CHF21P" if that's what they send in, but the radio itself will still be throwing out an ID of 211500, and that's what you will see on a scanner.

Bit off topic but am seeing a new addition to Penn State Police flying
around doing circles today on my mode s box around Lancaster/Chester County areas.

Maybe testing it out.. This is cool plane type.. Had PC-12 last year buzz my house inbound
Cecil airport and sounds like P-51 Mustang on steroids.. Rumbles with high super charged single engine horsepower.
Good for transporting pax at high altitudes and speed.. USAF had mess of them but sold off most
as they guzzle fuel for single engine plane but no surprise with all that horsepower.
USAF stuck with their Beech BE20/C12 types..

Having Difficulty with new Chester County P25 system

Does anyone know where I can get a Homepatrol -1 programmed for the new Chester County System? Or, will it work? I downloaded the new DB and it has been silent. Listening to the live feed, there should be plenty of activity. I thought I understood this stuff, clearly the new system proved me wrong.

HP-2 for ChesCo P25 System

You'll need a Uniden HomePatrol-2 to track the new system and decode Phase 2 P25 audio I believe. Works very well. I upgraded from HP-1 to HP-2.
Mostly I am monitoring ChesCo with the BCD436HP using ARC536PRO from Butel to do virtual control from a Windows 10 machine.

Thanks pwscott. Sounds like a pretty big investment, but a very nice scanner. Are you able to pick up most traffic on the new system? Also, are you able to isolate the talkgroups so that you don't hear everyone in the county?

Thanks for the help.

Both the BCD436HP and the HP-2 seem to track and receive the system extremely well. I don't think I'm missing anything and am seeing UIDs of radios etc. I'm in a very good, high elevation location and using just the stock rubber ducky antennas on each.

You also continue to see the numerical identifier on the radios, as well. The alias ID would be visible on the dispatcher console.

Thanks for the advice. The BCD436HP is perfect. Picking up all the Chester County P25 trx very strong. Easy programming with Sentinal. Does anyone know how I can keep Sentinal from restoring all of my scanner settings back to default each time I write back to the scanner? (Display, Key Beep, Quick Keys....etc)

You can save those settings in sentinel by clicking on Edit, Then Edit Profile. Don't forget to save after making changes.

Or you can make the changes on the radio, Then Download from the radio and save that, before writing changes to the scanner again.

Hope that helps!

Chesco P25 Hit or Miss

Must be missing something, Have had great reception in Chester Springs then goes silent for an hour or so.

Picking up Fire VHF but nothing on P25.

Using:
RFSS Site Name Freqs
1 (1) 002 (2) West 769.53125c 771.19375a 771.56875a 771.89375a 773.49375a 773.90625a
10 (A) 010 (A) East Central 851.06250c 851.61250a 851.86250a 853.11250a 856.23750a 860.23750a 860.48750a

Could there be another frequency that is not listed in the RR Db?
