WEST BRANDYWINE — A 1994 Honda Prelude was moving at more than 70 mph before it bottomed out and had its roof sheared off by a tree in the crash that killed four Coatesville Area High School students early Sunday morning, according to information released Tuesday by police.

Police also specified Tuesday that marijuana and drug paraphernalia were found at the crash. Investigators, meanwhile, have been unable to determine who had been driving the car.

Collin Feiler McElroy, 16, of Honey Brook; Evan Pringle, 15, of West Caln; Jerry Warfel, 14, of Honey Brook; and Kyle Marsh, 17, of Coatesville all died in the crash shortly after midnight at the intersection of routes 82 and 322.

The victims had been traveling north along Route 82 past Route 322 when the crash occurred, police said. All four occupants were ejected from the vehicle, police said, and none of the occupants were wearing seat belts. Autopsies were performed and blood samples were taken from the victims, police said.
