Update... supposedly there are "issues" in Chester receiving the VHF Paging frequency. They will be simulcasting paging on the "OLD PD 3" channel for the time being. I don't know the frequency is someone else can chime in here...

Thanks

The car numbers are the last two digits of the agencies NCIC number, that's assigned to them. This was posted awhile back on RR.com.

The 1st 2 digits of the municipality code is 14 for Morris Co. That's how they get the 4 in 42, 46,47 cars etc. The code for Chester Boro and Twp is 1406 and 1407 respectively.

Basically, if it's a zero number ORI code, they are using the 4 digit before it. If not, they are using the last two digits before the zeros (all the ORI codes actually have two additional numbers (zeros) at the end, but I left them off). As RockeyNJ indicated, it's just easier to say...Here is a list for Morris County if it helps...

then why is Wharton 39?

LOL

Seriously, you actually figured it out. 42 is easier to say than 02

1439. It just so happens Morris Co. is the 14th county in the state. Call me I will talk slow for you!

For ex. Caldwell is 0703.

I have to get you back for that e-mail!!

I don't know why but before plain english and NIMS was popular Washington Twp used 36 instead of 38 now. Roxbury is 36.

I was told that the chesters and washington twp used 31, 32, 34, 35, 36, etc. respectively to fall into place with Hunterdon County mutual aid stations. Can anyone elaborate on this?

Let's face it, until a few years ago most people considered them Hunterdon County anyway!
