Can anybody tell what the chirpping or beeping is before and after a transmission?
For example Wildwood NJ Pd. 155.64
Thanks and GOD BLESS

Those noises are simply the user's radio keying up the repeater, which rebroadcasts the signal. The noise at the end is most likely the radio transmitting a tone that signals that the user is done talking. :)

The chirping could also be the radio transmitting it's ID to the communications center for display on the dispatcher's screen.

As Stated Probably Motorola MDC1200 Digital signaling or GEStar similar Signaling by GE, both can be used by Motorola and other radios. Check here Digital Modes Samples there should be something similar to what you are hearing on there, specifically check MDC1200 and GEstar samples.

If I remember correctly it was a short chirp at the satr and a short chirp at the end, between the chirps there was audio and mdc1200.

It could possibly be a microwave link for multiple receivers or the remote link from dispatch to the repeater.
