I am very upset with all this rebanding business , I need to buy a scanner that will handle rebanding ,does anyone have any suggestions on which one to get and I would not have to spend an arm and leg ,all I use it for is to listen to the police, fire and EMS which does not take a lot of channels , I am in the Rosenberg and Richmond Texas area , now I have a pro 95 and a pro 97 and a pro 2050 that i cannot use for anything ( I guess )

The pro-106 portable or pro-197 will do what you want and more. ;)

I was debating getting the refurbished 164 also but after some research the GRE psr-310 which is a model above the PRO-164 (which is also made by GRE) has much newer more advanced technology which is why I went with it. You should look into that as well. I got mine locally for $170 but u can find online for $150

Not the psr-310. Difference between 164 though is its the "newer model" and it scans faster. Other than that. They are similar models. Just one has newer technology.

Digitals are expensive to what I have found ! Don't know how GRE does in digital category. But as mentioned for analog trunking. The psr-310 model is the best.

310 FTW unless you need digital

FYI, if you buy the 310 from Scannermaster within the next week they will ship it for free and it'll also be tax free ...so $149.99 will be your total price. Another plus, the 310 also comes with an AC adapter in the box whereas the PRO-164 does not.

Just saw your last post while typing mine. To answer your question, the 310 is an analog only scanner. Don't know how much digital is in your area. 310 vs 164? wall wart incl. as stated above. Also the 310 has a much improved display over the 164. See my vids, a number of them show the 310 in action, also the 106 and 410.
