Hello everyone, first time poster - I hope this thread does not violate any rules of this section and you may be able to help lead me in the right direction.
Been using some older model scanners for a bit now to learn about them more (mostly older BCD996T and 996XT models) and wanted to upgrade to something newer, handheld, and with P25.
Mostly would be looking for EMS and fire in the Toronto area, which I can see are all P25 digital frequencies.
My question is: I'd like to dive in with the BCD436HP, but wanted to make sure I was not tossing money to the wind if it was more worthwhile to get the SDS100. It seems most of the 100's are about double the price here over the 436. I would like to not break the bank totally, although I do understand this is a pay to play kind of thing.
Does the BCD436HP hold up well enough, or are there enough simulcast issues that it's worth bumping to the SDS100?
Thank you for your time and knowledge.
