So I am just getting into SDR. I have managed to get the program up and running and the dongle driver installed. I am receiving audio. I am using known local radio stations to start. Even though I am getting the audio, it is very choppy. It is on/off (say half second intervals) at a regular rate and moving the antenna around does nothing. I have played with RF gain and frequency correction but that does not correct it either. However, oddly when I move the gain slider or as I am moving the frequency correction arrows up or down the audio briefly comes in clear and solid. When the selection 'catches up" to what is entered, it goes back to the same choppiness. Any ideas? Thanks.

In the configuration popup window, try adjusting the 'Sample Rate' to a lower value.
The higher that is set, the higher the load on your processor.

If that is set too high for your processor, it will cause that kind of problem.
For testing, you can set it all the way down to 1.024 MSPS or even 0.900001 MSPS.

If that solves your problem, you can gradually increase it to find where it becomes unstable.

Hmm. Interesting. I see the Sample Rate dialog/selector but I cannot adjust it. The text is dimmed and currently set at 2.4 MSPS. "Device" is also dimmed and locked reading "Generic RTL2832U OEM" as is "Sampling mode"- Quadrature sampling.

I've never seen that problem.
I change that selection all the time and have for years.

You should be able to click on the 'Sample Rate' and get the drop down for the selections.

If you're using an old version of SDR#, you may have to hit stop before you can make that selection.

Ahha! You're correct. Stopping solved that. I will play with the sample rate. Thank you for your help so far.
