Past few days all the units have been on the low band Gold repeater, with RCS still patched. Sounds like listenig to the Orange patched to LE S Command! Maybe they are training them so they don't forget how to use extenders, like how FD trains by switching to the VHF repeaters for a week.

With CRIS coming, word is CHP will use it. No idea if it's a full switch or just in Metro areas? If CHP uses CRIS, that could remove the need for patches on other trunked systems?

The radios are already programmed...ZONE 1 is CRIS for local CHP cruisers with the new radio setups. Would make sense that CHP brass told the DOJ if you want our radio traffic encrypted, you gotsta pay for and build out of encryption capable trunking system. Wonder if that's what will or is happenning?

Got word the Gold usage was from Oceanside and San Diego units that were sent to man El Cajon areas and they took on 108 call signs.
