CHP low band channel bandwidth?

I am reading a CalOES document stating that low band uses 20kHz bandwidth. Would this hold for CHP 39MHz and 42MHz frequencies? My radios are programmed for 25/30kHz at this time...wondering if I need to change this.

CHP Low Band is full bandwidth (and not subject to P25) I'd go with 25/30, 20khz is the channel allocation width. Max deviation is 5Khz+/-, but is typically set for 4.7Khz max for added padding.

Whoops, I didn't realize I was in the breaking news sub forum...DOH!

So what is the deal with LLAW1 39.46MHz being assigned 20kHz bandwidth...is it "rebanded" then? I guess that 20kHz thing is just confusing me.

If they are using 5 kHz deviation and the highest audio frequency is 3 kHz the the actual occupied RF bandwidth is 16 kHz.

Right, it's wide band, 20K0F3E

They allow it 20KHz wide total, and put it in 25KHz channel spacing so there is some extra space between it and the next frequency.

Low band was not 'rebanded' or 'narrow banded'. It was left as is.

Set your channel bandwidth to 25/30KHz.
