CHP Unit 300??

So the other day I was listening to Visalia PD 2 and I heard a unit come on saying that he was CHP Unit 300 and he would be on this channel for a special detail. Well by what I understand, CHP 300 doesnt sound right for a unit number. I listened for a little while longer to see if I could hear him pulling traffic or doing follow up somewhere, but I didnt hear anything at all. Any help would be greatly appreciated...

The OCAPS guys use similar identifiers. Might be dignitary protection guys or building security of some type.

I thought that might be short for one of the 5xxx series calls, but I don't see any 5300 series call listed anywhere.

Yeah there are not any buildings around here that would need anything like that. So now I am definately curious, because Visalia PD didnt seem too worried about it.
