I have a XP computer that is mostly used for email. The XP will not access internet because it's version of IE is not longer supported. The computer has 1 GB of memory. Will Chrome install and run on the XP computer? If so, how do I get Chrome for the install?

I don't think so. I have an old laptop that I used primarily for programming radios. It has XP and Chrome stopped working properly on it. You might try Mozilla Firefox.

Mozilla publicly announced that Firefox 52.9.0esr was the last supported Windows XP version available, they still have it up on their online repository. As it is no longer supported, YMMV.

Download it here
