You can do it on Linux with WINE, but not ChromeOS.

i don't have the answer, i am better at questions...
i really thought that windows 10 could have S mode
and the chromebook always shipped with S mode but that both could be turned off.
something about only getting apps from their store.

Chromebooks do not run Windows. They run Chrome OS. Sentinal only runs on Windows.

Whether or not they both have an "S" mode isn't relevant. Sentinal will not run on a Chromebook.

That's Windows. Windows S mode is similar to ChromeOS in that regard. There's no S mode on ChromeOS.

Or in WINE.

Chrome-operated machines are designed to access the Internet and not much else.

Sentinel will run on any Windows from 7 on. I use a great little $200 machine that I use only for programming and running my laser etchers. It has almost no bloatware and runs fast. It's a Motile (brand) and I got it at Walmart.

If you get into radio programming beyond one or two radios, the only answer is a Windows computer. I have a large collection of older HTs, and some even require DOS with a true serial port. I have tried WINE on a couple of Linux versions, and the USB port is often the main problem once the software is running.
