I suspect you will be limited to what is supported by android apps, assuming your chromebook supports this. Looks like Fldigi is now supported on android; google AndFlmsg

Yeah im scrapping the idea. I found online people who did it but its too much work, time and no guarantee to work. With the htx-100 and tyt9800d has anyone used them for digital and if so what did u use for a set up? Theres online sources but different ways.

You don’t need a gaming laptop. Here’s a Lenovo ThinkPad 11e (1st Generation) 11.6" Notebook, Intel N2920 Quad-Core, 128GB Solid State Drive, 4GB DDR3, 802.11ac, Bluetooth, Win10Pro, refurb on Woot for $180. It’ll do whatever you need it to. Small but sufficient. Install Linux or whatever on it, if you think that’s better. You could also poll friends and families and neighbors for those who have an otherwise working old laptop or desktop gather dust on a shelf for free or silly cheap.

Yep! I just went a bought some cheap ($200) convertible windows 10 laptop at target for my use. It’s lightweight and easy to use with a really long battery. I mainly use it for reprogramming gear in the field. I do the heavy work on my main laptop then dump everything to my Dropbox to use on the mini laptop.

lenovo has "NO" right in the middle.
just my personal opinion.
Does your opinion help answer the OP's question?

For that matter, once the OP said that he's scrapping the idea, there's really not much else to add.
