The DuComm IFERN rebroadcast repeater (470.3625) has a lot of traffic coming from Cicero FD. All dispatch (Cicero Central) and on-scene ops are coming through. I am too far away to hear if Cicero is actually using the 154.265 frequency. This seemed to begin last week after the strong line of thunderstorms moved through on Thursday morning. Perhaps their primary base is down? Is anyone closer to the area to confirm if they are indeed using IFERN?

Yes, Cicero and Stickney FDs have been using IFERN since at least last Wednesday. Normally, North Riverside also uses the West Suburban Fire Net (154.190) along with the 2 agencies, but I haven't heard them on IFERN. I'm not sure what the issue is, but it's definitely some sort of outage.

Hearing Cicero using 154.190 once again. It's coming a little weaker than usual, but it's up and running.

154.190 is down again. Cicero and Stickney are using IFERN for dispatch...

Oh great! It almost seems like they have a different PL on as they continually talk over any active incident in progress elsewhere. During the previous period I remember a day when Rosemont (as think it was) had a Mabas Hazmat box toned out. Cicero just went on with their normal communications making the other communications for the box alarm challenging as they are relatively close to each other.
