Looking for success stories if anyone has used a Cimarron MDC-1200 board in a Kenwood TK-3180 and/or 8180. I saw the CIM-1000 does encode, but I now see a CIM-2000 does both encode and decode. I would LOVE to do MDC decode on my Kenwood if it's available.

EXPERIENCE!!!! The Cim-2000 DOES do encode/decode.....BUT it won't decode while in your TK-3180. I had one installed in my TK-2180 and was deeply disappointed when it wouldn't decode ID's to my display. I contacted a rep from Cim and he advised unless it was attached to one of their decode units, it wouldn't decode the ID..... THANKS FOR NOTHING!!!!!!! But, good luck dude. It does work great for encode, just not the decode side in the Kenwood TK-x180 series radios.
