Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky MONIX Zoom Meeting

The Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky area MONIX radio club will be holding a Zoom meeting this Saturday, October 17th starting at 6 p.m.

Here is the official announcement.


There is a Zoom meeting planned for next Saturday night starting at around
6pm.

That would have been the normal South meeting night at the Bellevue Donatos
but due to continued COVID-19 restrictions those meetings are still on hold
until restrictions are lifted.

The two major topics of discussion will be the new NKY P-25 Phase 2 system
and the new up and coming Duke Energy P-25 Phase 2 Harris system that is
seeing fast deployment with new licenses being issued every week for new
sites.

And any other topics people want to bring up. Log in info will be released
about a half hour before the meeting is scheduled to start.

The BCD296D will not work on the new radio system. It is a P25 Phase II system.

It has digital card and says it will pick up motorola systems along with p25. l and ll phase 1&2 along with other digital systems....pulling my hair out

It will only receive P25 Phase I systems, it is not P25 Phase II capable.

The other issue you will have with that scanner is that it does not work well on P25 simulcast systems.

The NKY radio system is P25 Phase II and simulcast so you are dealing with two major issues with that scanner. Your best bet is to get a new scanner.

I have the BCD325p2 that was programmed in 2017, I need help reprogramming for local area mainly Northern Kentucky/Cincinnati area. Is there any groups local. I was in the monix group that shutdown

You may be confusing a Motorola Type II system with a P25 Phase II system. The Motorola Type II system was the predecessor to the P25 Phase I system. I am familiar with the 296 and 796 scanners. They are capable of P25 Phase I only. They are NOT capable of P25 Phase II.
