All that is known right now are the talkgroup numbers, I don't think anyone has figured out their useage yet.

There have been over 168 talkgroups logged with Procomm96 all are in
the 3xxxx series. They have not been added to the database because their usage have not been confirmed yet.
If you read the news item entry on the Hamilton County TRS listing in the database you would know that
bringing the system online with full actiivty has been pushed back because the training is taking more time than originally planned.

Some Cincinnati 3x traffic using encryption was heard this morning,
but due to training delays Cincinnati may not go digital until next month,
however they are issuing radios and some people are playing with them.


Just keep an eye on the system with your scanner and help us confirm them as they become active 8)

I hope they wont use encryption on there normal Fire and Police dispatch talkgroups. I also heard the encryption being used.

Talkgroups are now in the DB. Looks like lots of encryption, but some in the clear to.

Noticed specualtion that one talkgroup labeled CVG might be a Covington interop channel. Believe it is more likely an interop channel with Greater Cincinnati-Northern Kentucky Intnl Airport - known by its FAA designation as CVG. Also, the talk group labeled C Gard might be a Cost Guard interop channel because of the city's location along the Ohio River which has a fair amount of Coast Guard activity.

Well I have just looked at the update....and I have a couple things.

First the talkgroups with the display of SSS1 and SSS2 I want to say might belong to the Support Services Section of the CPD. This guess is only based upon knowing the existance of that section, which by the way uses the same abbreviation.

Secondly I want to say the the 5 talkgroups with the display of Patrol Inves and then the numbers 1-5 after them are the district investigator talkgroups for each respective district.

Finally, with respect to the inter-op talkgroup for the Norwood Police Department does anyone know why that is encrypted while all of the other inter-op's are not? Now I realize that this may be on a user basis but I was just wondering.

Just to clarify

SSS1 and SSS2 will be used for the Special Services Section (car to car) which is Traffic Unit, Mounted, K-9, Parks sections.
Norwood does have a talk group reserved but will NOT go on-line May 3rd 0700 hrs due to money concerns - no update as to when they will switch.

Found out last night after talking with a CFD Lt, that they will have full communication capabilities between city and county units on all Fireground channels 1-29 and all MA channels (Mutual Aid/Multi-Agency) 1-29. FYI.

Cincinnati Police and Cincinnati Fire are now on 800 MHz as of 0730
this morning (5-3-05).

Only CWID's and the computer voice callsigns
remain on Cincinnati 460's

Some county units having apparently having trouble
talking directly to Cincinnati 800 using their
Hamilton County Radio, had to find the right TG.

Sherriff 460.025 radio testing ACB
(for NW Comm Center?)

UC Police 460.050, nil hrd since Cincy switched over!

Norwood 460.075 remains including ACB's

Glendale 460.150 remains

AW 6 460.500 remains

ARTIMIS remains on 452.900,
they also have been "guarding" MA 10
for quite some time now

For anyone needing a new clone for their
Pro-96/2096, it will be available this afternoon from
the Northgate Radio Shack.

UC is still on 460.050 for a while, until MobilComm can get the new system installed
