The Citrus County 800 TRS was recently rebanded. Gone are the 851.xxxx freqs. In place are: 855.6875, 854.5625, 858.1625, 857.5125, and 859.0875. I have not seen any new tgid's. I also took out the old freqs. and put the new freqs. into my 296 and 796. Both radios are working like a charm. I'll contact the administrator so he can change the database. Just an FYI for those people interested in the rebanding issue, Chuck.

Rebanding

Chuck,

I have a BCT15 on the way, should have it by next week. Firmware is available to reband the 15, but then Unidens software no longer works, I can live with that. I have downloaded the freeware to try when the radio arrives. My concern is, I have read the "Circus" county is changing to another system, when is this change supposed to take effect? I live here in Pine Ridge so reception should be pretty good county wide.

Thanks,

Roger

Roger, I don't think the county is moving to a new system. Just the rebanded frequencies. Yes reception should be very good up your way. I'm down in Sugarmill Woods and the reception is great. You should also be able to get the Marion Co. system (if you have a digital capable scanner). If you need further help, don't hesitate to ask, Chuck.

I hear Citrus SO very well on my PRO163 and 164 with the Watson "super gainer" antenna. I am in Spring Hill. I also get Tampa PD pretty good especially at night. I know that Tampa PD is going into the County EDACS system soon and I may not be able to hear them then. Can you hear Tampa PD in Citrus County?

No I can't get Tampa PD. All of my antennas are indoors. No outside antennas here (HOA rules). Every once in a while, when conditions are right, I will receive Pasco Co. Something I have to live with, Chuck.

I have the deed restriction thing too. The antennas are all indoor here. I may do an attic YAGI when Tampa switches. According to the FCC information their highest tower is 122 feet and it is actually in Lutz so I think with a YAGI aimed at it I may still be able to hear them. I get Pasco but believe it or not Tampa is clearer most nights. I have found that there are several "sweet spots" through out the house where I get good reception but move just a few inches away and it is just static. It is a shame that Tampa PD did not maintain their UHF system I think it puts out a much stronger signal than the EDACS will. NYPD is still using their old UHF system and I hear they will stay with it. Check out these feeds.

Yes the are. BC296, 396, 780, 796 and Pro97. The radio techs. are still working on the system. Every once in a while you'll hear them. I know that they are reconfiguring some TG's. Keep an ear out for these. Chuck.
