I went to a sence from my house 3 blocks from it. I will post picutre when I get it. I have video too. St Augustine Police Car vs P/U. 2 people suppose to be air lifted to Jacksonville not sure why may be there was a storm rolling in. I am not sure what happen. Happen around 0110 hours. I was there for about 2 and 1/2 hours walking around and filiming and talking to people.

Why were you there? Is it your job to respond to "the sceen"?
Honestly when scanner listeners start showing up at incidents it makes the cops want to encrypt there transmissions even more. If you don't belong there then stay away.
Enjoy scanner monitoring from a far. If it is your job to respond then be safe if it is not then stay away.

I work for a newspaper. I didn't hear it on the police channel heared the auto accident on city fire they did not say anything about the wreck I went to it to check it out.

when cops encrypt they loose... The public assists the emergency services personel in more cases then they hinder.. who do you think arrives first, A cop??.. Think again.. Its the civilian who gets the description of the criminal, the tag # of the hit and run vehicle, Etc..
Its the EMT who comes up on the scene while traveling to the park with his family.. He has no REQUIREMENT to act but he does.. Is he wrong??
Cops with closed minds need to realize what the civilian CAN do to help them and how much they will miss the "Help" when they go under the "Maxwell Smart bubble".
Just my Opinion for what it's worth..

1 train, 1 car, 2 people; if a guy that was walking by hadnt pulled the 2 out of the car by the time me and the rest of the responders got there hadnt; then there would have been 2 fatalities that day. instead one of them graduated high school in may. so there ya go.
as for the media, its his job to get info for the next days paper. as long as hes not in the way.

Just wondering what type of newspaper man ie: reporter does not know how to spell scene?
Please do the rest of us a favor and stay away from such scenes. There is enough dysfunction without scanner people. Listening from afar is not a bad idea. :wink:
