OK Gary, What does it all mean???
The quick and dirty way to turn these cryptic codes into something useful is to use this page from the RR wiki as a cheat sheet:
Emission Designator - The RadioReference Wiki
Emission designators are specified in an FCC license. Go to
License Search, pull up a specific license, click on the FREQUENCIES tab, then on one of the frequencies.
7K60FXE breaks down as follows:
7.6 kHz bandwidth, Frequency Modulated, other, Telephony voice or sound
As a ham, FXE may not sound familiar, but F3E should.
Currently analog FM would be 16K0F3E
16.0 kHz bandwidth, FM, Single analog channel, Telephony voice or sound
Before narrowbanding analog FM was licensed as 20K0F3E, 20.0 kHz bandwidth.
