MONTREAL - The communications systems of the police and fire departments on Montreal Island are so outdated, there’s no time to wait for Urgences-Santé and non-emergency municipal departments to get involved before going ahead with a $200-million plan to install a new integrated voice radio system, the chairman of Montreal’s city executive committee says.
