I was looking at this listing: http://www.radioreference.com/apps/db/?ctid=606#cid-1327
I am wondering which one of these would be the snow plow ops for the city.
Another set of questions to go with this:

One freq states to be the Dept. Of Health & Human Services, is this the folks who sweep up the homeless and go to the shelters with them? Do food drops, etc?

I ran across 453.700, very active this evening. Listed as being State Of Illinois. Is this IDOT snow / salt ops? Which portion of the directory am I looking in for the IDOT Snow / Salt ops? I know it would be Illinois, but which specifics am I looking for to know I have the right freqs?

I want to get this set into my receiver the right way so I don't mix it all up.

453.700 is the IDOT Minutemen. 453.300 is IDOT maintenance (and snow/ice removal) on the expressways.

Not sure if their's a list out there, but have been listening today and a couple of days ago during the storm. 3 frequencies mentioned (453.100, 453.550, 453.650 all with CTCSS of 107.2) cover the snow plow operations city-wide. Each plow is assigned to work a specific district. "Main" is snow command downtown, than each District is in charge and dispatches accordingly. Just heard 1-8 on all channels checking with his supervisors as to snow status. 1-8 sounds like the Streets & Sanitation Commisioner Mike Picardi. Couple of them came up and said "Yea Mike, light snow" etc. I guess when you know da boss, you can do this..lol.

Let's add to the interest by mentioning an article featured in the Sun-Times recently that stated Mr. Daley is going to cut down on snow plow ops and it is feared that it will result in more lawsuits. Against whom is left to the imagination. It could be that drivers will likely sue each other more over damages resulting from road conditions let go by the city?
