Tomorrow’s Oklahoma City Council meeting agenda* shows there will be renewal agreements for the City’s Harris 800MHz trunked radio system (EDACS). These are the annual renewals with an option for an additional 4 years. Plus, they are all getting hit with 3% rate increases every year.

The City of Bethany, current renewal: $17,670.00

The City of Mustang, current renewal: $15,672.00

The City of Warr Acres, current renewal: $14,412.00

City of Yukon, current renewal: $24,210.00

Oklahoma City Community College (OCCC), current renewal: $2,805.00

Putnam City School District Campus Police Department, current renewal: $4,476.00

Note: The current RR Database for Oklahoma City does not list the talkgroups listed for OCCC (original contract December 30, 2014) or PC Campus Police (June 12, 2012) similar to the other 4 contracts.

Otherwise, if you want to do the math, the current rate for a handheld is $12.50 per radio, per month and $18.00 per mobile (or desktop) per month. Each licensee has to replace their own accessories such as batteries, etc.

In summary, it means these entities will not be scannable for some time as noted in the "Listening to OKC" sticky note above.
