Good morning,

Does anyone know if the City of San Diego Public Safety is an APCO-25 system?
I assumed that the the County is a digital because the database indicates as such, but the city it says it's analog.
When I try to scan in San Diego on my analog scanner, I get the same kind of garbling on the City as I do on the County.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

San Diego City is all analog. It's a splinter system can be tracked by all trunk trackers except the PRO-92 (unless you have an earlier version). I heard a rumor they would go digital but lets hope that isn't for years to come :)

I've got a Pro-97, and I downloaded all the freq & talk groups into win 97 from this site,
so I am little confused as why I am hearning nothing but static from the San Diego Public Safety.

I live in Riverside County, but I am going to be back in San Diego on Monday, so I will take my programming cable and software and see if I can figure out whats going on.

I also have the same issue with the County of San Diego, but they show digital, which is why i was not surprised to not get anything useful.

Cokeswigga, did you check this? If it isn't set for Splinter you aren't going to get great audio because splinter offsets the freqs by -12.5kHz.

I forget the keystroke but it Func-2 or something from the prog-trunk mode. You don't want it to say "Normal."

The RCS is still trackable with the 97, there's quite a lot of analog traffic so you'll just have to lock out anything above talkgroup 32768.

Thanks...

so all I have to do is click the splinter bottom on win 97, and I'm good to go?

How would I know by looking at the database, that this is a splinter system?

Do I need to set anything on the MOT Custom trunking Table

or the fleet map?

Yup. Program as a splinter and you are good to go. No other customizations are needed for it to work.

By the frequencies. Splinter is for 850-866 only. All frequencies are -12.5 so there's nothing greater than three digits to the right of the decimal point.

856.0000
856.0250
856.0500
etc
etc

Anything around Mexico uses splinter freqs. All systems in San Diego and Imperial Counties are splinter.
