City of Tulsa - Digital Next Month -- Or .. Another Waiver?

Wonder if the City of Tulsa System will finally go digital next month -- or --- maybe another waiver?

The waiver has to do with the mandated Sprint/Nextel re-banding agreement with the FCC, nothing to do with switching to digital. Look for the waivers to be extended until the FCC issues.an Order terminating the whole process, Sprint/Nextel has voluntary been shutting off all the legacy Nextel 800 systems nationwide so further re-banding has become a moot point.

TPD will at some point will be encrypting all PD comms with the exception of the main dispatch TG's don't look for them to switch on any specific date, they will when they are confident everything is ready.

Thanks for the clarification. I was confused because it stated "KNJH431," 800mhz for public safety. I was confused in reasoning rebanding would also incorporate the digital transition,


Will --Car-to-Car be encrypted?-- And then A,D, and G you said will not? What about Street Crimes?

Aside from the primary dispatch nothing was discussed specifically, if I hear more that can be publically disclosed I will post it.
