Does anyone know where I can find more information about this auction?

I'm interested in some of the things listed on the website, but I'm hesitant to place bids online. The "Terms & Conditions" page doesn't really show any terms or conditions when I try to load it.

They suck, unless of course you'd like a pallet full of broke down lightbars and a worn out EMSA ambulance.

I scored a slightly damaged Night Scan 4 head light tower for $75.00. 10 defibs for my FD for $500. The pallets of Vector light bars went for an average of $500 a pallet. Looks like there are going to be a lot of wreckers running Vectors soon.

The 10 defbis sound like a lawyers dream if you ever use one on someone. They'll have to be checked out, certified, etc, etc before use. If not, that wouldn't be cool to be a patient.

The Vector and Vision lightbars, well..good luck to whoever bought those. Those are some of the highest amp drawing (~ 44 amps when on) lightbars to ever hit the market. Those things have been the death of more CVPI alternators than you could shake a stick at.

Which is why they are going to Physio-Control to be certified before they go in service. We will now be able to have defibs on all of our trucks. Two of them have recent service dates of 6/06. We are going to have them recertified also.

First Medic 510, they are the ones Tulsa Fire just got rid of. I went through and picked out all of the good ones. They all had what company they were assigned to stenciled on the front. I got the ones from the Chiefs, Hazmat, and stuff like that. I only got one that was off a engine company.

I've never used one at a volunteer service. We've got 4 of them in service and all were provided with grant money and came via INCOG/State Health Dept.

HOWEVER!!! Typically the response times are too slow to get to a truck, then get to the scene and help the patient. Of course, whatever you do, don't speed with your 4-way flashers on. Don't use any flashing lights, that would be illegal. Drive 35mph on the country roads on all "man down" calls. What a joke. /rant off

Sorry for the rant.

We got several through that grant also, we were thinking that they would be handy to have on our grass rigs. Out in the middle of a large grass fire it could take a while to get to somebody if they go down. About 7 years ago our Assistant Chief, now retired, had a major MI way out in the pasture. Granted he did not need a defib, but if he had it would have taken quite a while to get him to one. Most of the departments around here don't carry medical gear on their grass rigs. My Chief and I feel that the cost of buying them at $50 apeice and what ever it cost to get them certified, and the other necessary medical supplies will be justified if we ever have to use one just once.
