The system is now in the beginning phase of implementation and a CC is on the air now.
I would guess they might link to Parker County (Kinda makes sense).

Anyone else with other info - please fill in...

I was thinking I heard White Settlement was going to be involved with the "overlay", but I don't see them mentioned in this recent document.http://www.nctcog.org/cs/radio/pdf/ProjectUpdate_101509.pdf
It seems like there's a lot of change on the horizon, and I'm not sure which ones are related.

Ahh ... the cat finally came out of the bag! This is supposed to be a real P25 system not a hybrid or re-band. it will be interesting to see how well it works for them.

Hearing 1 sided comms from what sounds like a simulcast of a Dispatcher on TG 24577 now.

Anyone know if the radio tech id is PD channel 2 yet or will it be for FD. Also for fire tone out are they using a p25 system or old channels for radio paging as its a vol fd?

White Settlement new radios

The 24577 being PD is the other radio id going to be for pd channel 2 or fire? Anyone know if they will use the trunking system for paging for vol fire or use the old fire channel for paging. Was told the fd hasnt started getting the radios yet but want to get the scanner programmed so its already good to go.

Well, this was a quick system install and migration. PD units are now heard on TG 24577.
I could not hear them prior due to noise issues on VHF at my Apt. Signal quality with a 1/4 wave cut for vhf mobile antenna/mag mount inside isnt too bad...

Im wondering what will happen with the fire dept side of the house. I really like how clear the new system. I sent the request for the id change to show that the 24577 id be for Police primary but am wondering what the other id will be. I am thinking it will be pd 2 so I am keeping it in the scanner with id search on. I spoke with someone if the fd a few days ago and was told that they havent even started getting it yet.
