I'm hearing Sky Combat Ace on 123.4500 instead of their usual freq 123.1500

Either they don't know or don't care those freqs are reserved for flight tests only

While I was there I found that Paris, Flamingo, Caesars. Rio, and Ballys all used one conventional channel of their existing system in DMR mode for security and all full E. I didn't try PH, but I am willing to bet they did the same thing.

Hmm... I used to work security for Harrahs/Caesars Entertainment and have worked at each one of those properties. It’s been several years, but I can’t imagine them using just one frequency to coordinate daily security operations. We *always* had *a ton* of radio traffic. Sometimes officers were fighting for airtime and each casino had its own talkgroup.

Post 10/1, the company created its own “Saturation Teams” (PC name for their Critical Incident Response team). I wonder if that’s a shared and Encrypted channel for the Saturation Team Officers. Either that or a channel for the Special Investigation Unit to coordinate operations. The SIU folks work at different casinos daily and could really benefit from a shared single frequency.

I think we should submit a change to the RRDB for the Nellis P25 System maybe time to seperate the NNSS out of Nellis talkgroup list? I'm still trying to gather all the new 30XXX talkgroups. For example I heard today a report of horses on 30064. We know the general announcements occ is 35000. I heard traffic on 31218 and encryption on 36104.

Is the old NNSS system still in use? I know I haven't heard any traffic on it in some time but I also don't monitor it on a regular basis now that its patched over onto the Nellis TRS.

I've collected over two dozen talkgroups over the last year. TG 30064 should be NNSS Special Operations and Research Division (SORD). Encryption on 36104 is new, Ive been hearing FD and EMS calls on it the last couple months.

165.4125 is some sort of campus. Last week I heard "the air-conditioner in CHL-450 is down." The repeater seems fairly high-profile. The power outage may have been wide-area, but it certainly didn't affect the entire area, so knowing what area was impacted will provide a clue.

I finally dedicated some resources to targeting this mystery, and found 165.4125/DCS654 is a maintenance crew repeater for the US Environmental Protection Agency Lab at UNLV. Environmental Protection Agency | Maps & Parking | University of Nevada, Las Vegas
National Exposure Research Laboratory and Radiation and Indoor Environments National Laboratory | US EPA
Environmentalists decry early closure of Las Vegas EPA lab

Per local newspaper articles from last year, the lab was supposed to close last September, yet workers are still on the repeater in March 2019, talking about the "CHL" (Chemistry Lab bldg).

Damn good work. As weak as that repeater is I thought for sure it was downtown, would have never guessed UNLV.

Need to figure out what's going on with this freq 409.0625 occasional digital noise? Never hear voice. My 536 is not decoding it as DMR or NXDN. No NAC is shown during the noise. Any ideas what else to try? Maybe DSD to see if it decodes anything? Will try tomorrow.

I'm sitting on it now (from about a mile W of your home) & haven't heard anything in the past 10 minutes. Does it seem to be SCADA? We're relatively close to LAS, so maybe they're wind shear detectors or other weather-related sensors, though I've found what I assume to be LAS wind shear detector telemetry on 410.950MHz.

I was surprised that our government servants are using a StationMaster-type antenna atop an approx. 60' tower for a repeater system that --at least for the past 5 years that I've been causally monitoring it, has an average of around 2 minutes of air-time per day, and has been used for maintenance ops for two standard buildings located side-by side -- about a 500' comms radius. Seems incredibly stupid & wasteful to me, but I can only hope that when the system was originally put into place, there was a legit need for good coverage in the Las Vegas area, like mobile radio comms for the couple EPA Criminal Investigations Division special agents that were/are probably assigned to the LV area.

On NHPs talkgroups, Ive been hearing references to Allied 2. Im still searching for it but Ive noticed 05-135 which was Probation & Parole Rural Dispatch has had nothing but NHP Las Vegas radio traffic for the last week or two especially in the afternoons around rush hour.

SNACC TGs
1307 Test Tones
1377 Still hearing that mystery EMS company
2037 Heard Metro, SWAT, Fire, and a Command Post during a barricade situation a week or two ago -- possibly IOP 1
2075 Unknown
2365 Discussions regarding routers and internet service in the terminals, possibly McCarran IT.
2369 McCarran Baggage Carousel Maintenance
2375 Unknown

173.0500 C114.8 Occasionally hear weak comms, radio traffic format is similar to BLM or USFS fire dispatch.

Its now SRT Security Response Team. All Caesars Entertainment Properties now have the same radio system. This is so that if an incident happens all they have to do is switch a zone and all properties can talk to each other.

On the old system other departments kept stepping on security.

Im noticing channel numbers being announced on a couple of the SNACC PD talkgroups

CCSDPD West Command CH-01
CCSDPD East Command CH-03
Marshals Dispatch CH-07

Is this new or have I been that inattentive?
