Hi All,

I know there's a long list of businesses in Clark county that may have active FCC licenses for analog radios, but how active are they?
Of the ones on the page, I've heard from only a couple: Bell Limousine and Cashman equipment. I have added in the four ambulances with FM, but haven't heard a peep. I find it hard to believe none of have been dispatched.

So does your scanner pick up any of these analog FM stations?

Medicwest/AMR is on digitial NXDN now. Community is on SNACC.

I thought that may be the case. Therefore this info is inaccurate?

This might be part of their old/backup system. I havent heard traffic on those frequency in years.

Cashman was acquired by Empire CAT in 2022, and no longer exists as an independent entity. The name should be changed in the database.

Thanks for the help.

Do you have any insight into the other analog frequencies listed on that page?
My advice is to just let the whole database scan and see what you pick up. I know that there are quite a few still active from time to time but most of it is all digital now. Its been a minute since I've had my equipment set up since Ive moved and I can't remember any specific frequencies that were busy unfortunately.

Thanks, DeoVindice and afchev.

I manually added a few into my analog scanner (BC125AT) earlier today and only heard a brief one way conversation from Empire CAT.

I imagine most non-retail places have moved to digital. I also read Walmart isn't on MURS now and i guess they're digital too?

I like listening to airband, but it seems that's what's left on analog. I really don't want to spend a lot of money, so I suppose the only other option I have is to take a look at the BCD160DN.

Thoughts?

I programmed most if not all of these into my 125AT. There are still quite a few stores in the area using these on simplex same as with GMRS/FRS. When I go to Target or Best Buy for example the scanner is easily concealed under a shirt on your beltline and a pair of wired headphones no one will know. Kinda fun to listen to what they are saying.

Also getting something digital capable is always good. Id save up though maybe until you can get yourself something like the 436HP that can also do P25 and proper trunking. You'd still have to get the DMR/NXDN upgrade for extra cost, but at least you'll be future proofed for a while.
