Clark County OTHER than Las Vegas

I have located the trunked frequencies for Clark County.

Questions:
Does anyone have present information for the OTHER cities in Clark County?
Boulder City, Laughlin, Bullhead City, etc.

And how are the unincorporated areas covered?
By NHP or is there a Sheriff's department of sorts?

I have on old Monitor America (from Scanner Master) but it is 7 or 8 years old.

I will am going through the FCC database for each county in Nevada to ensure that what is theoretically out there is in the database. I figure some information is better than none.

In the case of Clark County, the RR DB is loaded with info but to get more you can either wait till I get to it or go >>> HERE <<< and search through the FCC DB via RR. If you are travelling to Clark County in the near future you can report your findings either here in the Nevada section or by submitting via a submission. Either way is good for all.

Las Vegas and Clark County went to a Uni-gov type government system back in the 70's, so Las Vegas Metro handles ALL of clark county police duties. Metro is on VHF, and their freq's are here in the database. Laughlin has their own 2 channels, and Bolder City is totaly on their own and they have their own VHF Freq's as well. Clark County/ Las Vegas fire as well as Henderson is on the 800 Trunked system.


I haven't been up there in a couple of years now....need to get back! The local indian casino's still don't hold a candle to Vegas.

Just to add to this.

The Metropolitan Police Department covers ALL of Clark County that is not covered by a local PD. Metro covers the city of Las Vegas etc.

The city of North Las Vegas has it's own PD and FD but the FD dispatches and shares freqs with Clark County/City of Las Vegas.

Henderson NV has its own PD and FD. FD does use the county freqs, but they normaly do not share the same chanels. They do their own dispatch etc. They do have some shared chanels for when fighting the same fire etc.

Laughlin has it own freqs, BUT is part of Metro PD and County FD.

Boulder City (the small town closest to the Dam) is totaly independant. (BTW Boulder City does not allow gambiling)

Last but not least LVMPD (Metro PD) is moving to the 800 MHz trunked system. As of this afternoon 2 of the Metro chanels wer heard on the county wide freqs.

Just got started in scanner listening this past week but have been in town for 25 years.

Well that sucks....They have (had?) an awesome VHF system...I never had any issue monitoring, even when I was deep inside a RF hole like a casino. I guess it was only a matter of time.

I am new to Vegas, been here about six weeks, so I am not really familiar with what "has been". Also I am really new to the whole Concept of trunking. I knew generally how it worked, but I had never monitored/programmed one till I moved here.
The last two weeks or so I have been really focusing in on the Clark County system, and then Last night I programmed in the NSRS into my Pro 95, and I kind of focused on that today (how neat is EDACS AFS numbering!). I haven't really paid much attention to the Metro freqs, because I don't know any of the codes. I am curious about the move of Metro to 800. What channels moved, and what are the new TGs? I just turned on Metro, and now I am trying to see who is missing, but I never really knew who was there in the first place. Also I hav my pro 95 back to the County 800 system, trying to see if any knew TG appear there, but I would like to knew what others are seeing too.

Actually Metro PD and all Clark law is going to a 700mhz opensky system that nobody will be listening to.

Aperently the Metro I heard on 800 Mhz was some type of test etc.

As for Metro going to 700 Mhz that is a bad thing (for us listeners)

Our only hope is that the report is listed as a draft. Not that anything will change but we can hope. :?

The PowerPoint is pretty old, I think it was authored around 1997. I'll give them that 700 is a little, tiny weenie bit better than 800. But Moto and MA/Com don't ususally talk to one another without some serious hardware. Yeah, that's interoperable. :roll: :roll: :roll: :roll:

Way to go Nevada! Oh well it's only taxpayer money and public servants lives.
