I see the term "deprecated" after all references to this system. Does that mean it's no longer in use?

Thanks, Gregg, N2UUP

S.N.A.C.C. moved from a traditional analog Motorola trunked system to using P25 Phase I over the past year, pretty sure it's complete at this time meaning there's no traffic in the analog sense anymore so whatever info you're looking at probably means in that respect. If you're referring to this entry in the RR database:

https://www.radioreference.com/apps/db/?sid=669

that's what it means, and the "new" P25 system info is here:

https://www.radioreference.com/apps/db/?sid=7166

Same basic system, same talkgroups with some additions but it's all in the digital domain now.

When I went to Vegas in March, i'm pretty sure the control channels were still active on the on the old SNACC system, but I didn't hear any traffic from any talk groups. All of the users have moved to the Phase 1 system by now , that's why it says depreciated.

When I went to ST George in December the EDACS system there from Vegas was still active there, is this the same system that's going to snacc? If so it was still going at that time and I didn't get any phase 1 control channels in the area...

The EDACS system is for the DPS, and numerous other agencies, in Vegas, and across Nevada. The EDACS system is still Active, the Old SNACC system was Motorola Type II trunking, and was replaced with a P25 Phase 1 system.

This is the old SNACC system.
